Friday: Pools, Soccer, and Dates

All week, I had planned on getting the boys pool out and letting them play in it on Friday. It was supposed to be hot and sunny, but when we woke up, it was cloudy and chilly. I blew it up and took it outside and filled it. I wanted for quite awhile before taking the boys out there because it just looked like it was going to rain, but we finally went out there a little bit before nap.

I could tell the boys were cold, but they had the best time. I took a few videos and posted them on Facebook because they were being so cute.

Since it's their first time in the pool this year, I had to take a ton of pictures. :)

Evan is happy if he can be splashing. The boys had been fighting all morning, but when they got outside, they played perfectly together. NO fighting about anything, they were best little buds.

Snack break, and time to warm up a little.

They were acting like they were seeing bugs, monsters, sharks, etc. and holding on to each other as they braved the treacherous waters, but I really think that it was more that they were cold and cuddling up.

The boys started a little game where Evan would lay on his back and Carter would push him down the slide. They thought this was the best thing ever, they laughed and laughed.

I had to get a picture of every step of this game.

Look how happy Evan is to get pushed down the slide.

Then this happened. They were running back and forth between the pool and back porch, but they were holding hands. How sweet is that?!

They also were getting a running start and jumping into the pool on their stomachs and sliding. I think these boys need a slip-n-slide.

They warmed up on the couch by sharing a blanket and watching an episode of Super Why.

The rain ended up holding off and the boys had their first soccer game in 3 weeks (because of rain/spring break)

Carter was not feeling the soccer game, he wouldn't go out there and play and would just sit in my lap. Evan was happy to be out there the entire time running around. Mamaw, Papaw, and aunt Caroline all came to see them play.

The coach gave all the moms roses at the game and since I have two boys on the team, she gave me two roses.

Me and Greg's 8th wedding anniversary was on Thursday, so my parents offered to keep the boys overnight on Friday night so we could have a date night. The boys have never spent the night with anybody without us. They were so excited.(and so were we!!) So, after the soccer game on Friday, the boys went home with my parents and Greg and I got an entire evening to ourselves.

Greg and I weren't sure where to go, we didn't want to go anywhere too loud, crowded, smoky, etc. So, we decided to just go to Buffalo Wild Wings and sit at the bar. They have trivia on the tv and you get a hand held game piece to play along, so we thought that would be fun.

The obligatory date night selfie.

My sister text me and asked us if we missed the boys and this is the look Greg gave. Haha.

Just like all our other date nights, we ended up at Target. We needed trash bags and it was on the way home, but we seriously, always have to swing by Target on our date nights for something.

We rented Disconnect (which I thought was really good) and then paused it half way through and went out for shakes and came back and watched the rest. I think the idea of the boys sleeping over was to also let us sleep in a little, but I had a yard sale that I wanted to go to, so we got up at 6:30 to go to this huge church yard sale that ended up being a total bust. :( We grabbed a quick breakfast out and then went and picked up the boys. It was so nice to have a night to ourselves and it was so fun seeing the boys on Saturday morning, they were just so cute. I think it's nice for Greg and I to get date nights, but it's also nice for the boys to get a break from us and vice-versa.
