I've taken lots of random pictures this week and thought I'd share what we've been up to.
Carter has been showing signs of being ready for potty training for awhile now. Although, I'm not ready and would rather wait until they are older, we figured we should go ahead and get everything and give it a shot. We got some toilet seats, stools, and pull ups. Neither of them have used the toilet yet, but we're offering it and letting them know they can if they want.
I got Toy Story 3 on Black Friday and heard it was really good and a total tearjerker. So, after the boys went to bed one night, Greg and I watched it. Alone, without the boys, while drinking a beer. Never thought that we'd be watching a cartoon after they went to bed, but we did and it was cute. But, neither of us cried. We have Toy Story 1 and 3, so now we both want to see Toy Story 2.
My mom introduced me to a new brand of candle. I've been using Yankee Candle for awhile now, but they're so expensive, we picked up a couple of these at Kirkland's and a big jar is only $7.99! They smell so good, I've been burning this one since we got back from Georgia.
I put the boys in their Christmas shirts already. I have several that I got for free and I'm excited for them to wear them.
This is a better view of Evan's shirt.
The boys have been obsessed with blanket forts, they always ask for us to set them up for them. Greg is the one who started that and does it with them everytime he plays with them. But, while doing a fort today, I asked the boys if I made one as good as Daddy and they said "yes", so I'm very impressed with myself. ;)
The boys have been waking up a little earlier than we would like and I think it's even a little early for them, look at Carter coloring, he's resting his chin on the table. :(
This is what we did one morning also, so I know they're exhausted, but when they won't go back to sleep, this is what we do. Movies and relaxing.
I started an online bible study. The one that my MOPs group is doing was at a time I couldn't do, and I've really been wanting to do one and then I heard about this girl who does them on her blog. So, I'm excited to do my first bible study.
The boys are so easy to handle in the store when we split up and each take a boy. They tend to be more wild when they're around each other. Evan pushed his little cart and I loaded it up with what we needed.
While Greg and Evan were buying our lottery tickets for tonight, Carter and I headed for the car. He saw this and wanted to sit in it. It was only 50 cents, so I put some money in it to make it go and he did NOT like that. He got down immediately and didn't want to have anything to do with it after that.
I looked in several stores and finally found these. They are an ingredient in the cookies I'm making for a cookie exchange party I'm going to on Sunday and I'm glad I found them. They're much more festive than the regular cream de menth ones.
I got both our trees up and decorated. I have one in the basement and one in the living room. I love having different trees with different color schemes. When I win the lottery tonight, I'm going to buy a huge house and put a tree in every room--all with a different color scheme. ;) I also have a few smaller trees to put up, like two mini ones for the boys room and a small 4 foot one for them to decorate, but I'll probably wait until the weekend to deal with those.
So, that's the random stuff we've been up to this week.

Multiples Play Date
Monday, we had our weekly multiples play date. It's been a few weeks since we've been to once since we were out of town last week, we didn't go on Veteran's day because Greg was off, the week before that we all decided to meet at a Bounce and Play instead of somebody's house, so it's been awhile since we've all got together to play. I love our weekly play date and now that we have the dvd player in the car, I don't have to worry about the boys falling asleep on the way home, so they still get a nap on Mondays, which makes me very, very happy. I snapped a ton of pics, I didn't realize how many I had until I got home, but I thought it'd be fun to share them so I can look back and see what all we did at play dates at this age and Greg could get a look at how what all the boys do.
Evan and Carter both got to drink out of a regular cup during snack and thought they were something! They kept asking for more water and actually did really well.
They boys played so well, there was so much to do and I think the boys really took advantage of that.
This is always a huge hit with all the kids. There's spill resistant cups filled with water and the kids get to "paint" with the water. They all love this.
The boys ALWAYS play with this toy, it's their favorite.
Several of the kids painting.
Train tables are always fun. I love the neat train track they had, I can't wait to give the boys the one I got on Black Friday.
The kids played with play-doh.
The boys enjoyed playing with the doll house. It was so big and perfect for multiple kids.
I need to take before pictures of the houses before the kids are let loose, it's amazing how much of a mess the kids can make.
The boys both love dogs, but Carter especially loves this one. This dog is so sweet and patient with them. I thought it was so cute that Evan got down and held his paws. They always offer the dog toys.
Before we left, we headed outside to play a little bit since it had warmed up. We could have spent hours out here. It was so nice and they have so many things to do out here.
Right before we left, the boys got a turn on the power wheels. They loved them! They were really easy to ride and they just needed to push a button on the steering wheel.
I thought I pretty much decided what to get the boys for Christmas this year, but after seeing these, I'm thinking I might have to add them to the list. They were so much fun!
So, that's what a typical play date looks like for us on Mondays. Is it any wonder that they're one of my favorite things to do during the week? The boys always play so good and it's so nice talking with the other moms. We all took a nice, long nap when we got home. Greg actually got home and we were all sleeping. Playing is hard work. :)

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving morning, we took the boys out for a ride so we could get a newspaper with the black friday ads. This is my parents backyard, I don't love being so far from town, but I do love how much land they have. It's so pretty!
When we got back, we let the boys work on their Thanksgiving placemats that I got at the dollar section in Target.
We changed them into their Thanksgiving shirs and let them play outside.
I tried to get a picture of them together in their shirts.
Here's Evan saying "cheese" haha, their "cheese" face never gets old to me. I think it's hilarious every single time they do it. I would love to get a picture of them both looking at the camera with a normal smile, but I love catching their personalities even more.
I love Carter's smile in this one.
The boys are pretty picky right now, so since we knew they wouldn't eat much of Thanksgiving dinner, we timed it during their nap so we could all sit and eat a relaxing dinner. It was delicious!! My parents cook the best food.
After the boys nap, Greg and I made a trip into town to let them play at this really nice park. We weren't the only ones who had this idea, because it was packed! Evan had no fear and went on the big kid part and went down a 3 story slide, several times.
He loved walking on this thing too.
You can see that the boys are no longer wearing matching shirts. Evan spilled stuff all over his, I'm glad I at least got a couple of pictures with the boys in their Thanksgiving day shirts.
There was a huge area to ride bikes and a splash pad for kids to play in.
It took Carter a little longer than Evan, but he finally warmed up and decided to join Evan on the big kid part.
The park already had some Christmas decorations out.
It's such a nice area with a playground, lots of grassy area, an amphitheather, sidewalks, etc.
The sun started setting fast after we got there, so we didn't have a ton of playing time, but I'm glad we got to take the boys to this park at least once while we were in.
Evan is not shy at all, he'll start playing and talking to anybody.
Lady Antebellum donated the park because they're from Augusta. I think that's really nice to give back to the community where you're from.
There was a star on top of this tree and some Christmas lights, but it wasn't done yet. I wish we could have seen it all done up and lit for Christmas.
When we got back to my parents, Evan played with some balloons with my family. He loved playing catch with everybody.
Carter ate a waffle for dinner while Evan played. On Thanksgiving. So sad. Hopefully next year they'll be into turkey, gravy, stuffing, etc.
Mmmmm....waffle.
Evan hitting my dad with the balloons. We would all act like he was attacking us and he thought it was so funny. All the toys my parents had for them there and they're having a ball with a $1.00 bag of balloons.
Look how happy he is!
After the boys went to bed, I had a piece of pie with my family and then I braved the crowds and went to Toys R Us. I had never been there for Black Friday (or Grey Thursday--or whatever they're calling it now) and it was insane. It was nothing like I had ever seen and I've been doing Black Friday shopping for years. I waited outside in line for an hour and then for an hour inside to checkout. I got some great deals, everything I bought was 50% off. I got home about 11:00 and was totally exhausted, but it was worth it.
