Asian Beef Wraps

We tried these Asian Beef Wraps last night for dinner and they were so tasty. I knew I'd like them, I've made a similar recipe before (you can find that here) But, these you could cook in the slow cooker, so I wanted to try them. I thought both recipes were good and you can do it either way. The good thing about these is you could prep everything the night before (like after the kids go to bed) and then just throw it all in the crock pot the next day.

Slow Cooker Asian Beef Wraps

Ingredients
  • 2 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup hoisin sauce, divided (8oz jar)
  • ¾ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp hot chili oil
  • 5 oz can bamboo shoots, drained, finely chopped
  • 8 oz can water chestnuts, drained, finely chopped
  • 14 oz can bean sprouts, drained
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, snipped
  • 12 crisp iceberg lettuce leaves
Instructions
1. Brown ground beef  with chopped onion. Drain off excess liquid. In large Crock-Pot combine cooked turkey and onion with celery, ½ cup hoisin sauce, soy sauce, water, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, chili oil, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
2.Before serving, mix in a can of bean sprouts and cilantro. Serve by scooping a spoonful in the lettuce, drizzle with the leftover (¼ cup) hoisin sauce.

Sorry these are not the best pictures, it was a little hectic a dinner time last night.
