5K and Kids Workshop Weekend Recap

I'm finally getting caught up on blogging. This weekend recap is from last weekend, March 7 and 8th!

Last Saturday, Greg got up bright and early to run a 5k, The Great Wesley Chase. All the money they raised went to Solace for the Children Greg had to be there early to sign in, but the boys and I drove up to be there when it started. We got there just in time to watch all the runners take off. The boys were so excited for Greg.

There were about 200 people who ran.

After the race started, the boys and I made it down to the finish line to cheer on the runners as they finished the race.

We didn't have to wait long until Greg crossed the finish line. He hasn't done a 5k since high school and he did great. He enjoyed it and is thinking about doing some more.

After the 5k.

After Greg finished the race, I took the boys to Home Depot while Greg stayed at church until all the runners crossed the finish line. The boys were so excited to do another kids workshop.

This month's project was book ends. They each made two to bring home. It was pretty easy and the boys did great.

Showing off their masterpieces.

We went home and had some lunch. Greg got home, showered and ate and then we all headed to the park. The weather was gorgeous! It was sunny and in the 70's. We brought some chairs and a picnic blanket and packed some food for the boys and stayed at the park for a couple hours. It was so nice.

We have all needed this warm weather. We are so sick of winter!

The next day, we managed to get up and ready and to church early, even with the time change. It was another beautiful day. It's easier to handle the time change when it's sunny and warm out.

These two are a mess! We were all happy that we didn't need coats that morning.

After church, we went home and had lunch. Then, we went to the gym. We dropped the boys off at the child care center and Greg and I were able to work out. When we picked the boys up, we went to the pool and hung out for a couple of hours. We talked about putting the boys to bed a little later because of the time change, but we were all so worn out after such a busy day and our time in the pool that we put the boys to bed at their normal time (ignoring day light savings) and they went to sleep immediately and even slept late the next morning!
